I’m not sure why, but the director role on a film or TV production has always intrigued me. Possibly I’ve romanticized it, though that seems difficult when a lot of directors have poor reputations in Hollywood and beyond. Perhaps I like the idea of being able to arrange a scene to the specifications of my imagination, occasionally stepping back to watch magic unfold as talented actors improv witty lines or clever slapstick humor. I have zero experience with the field, so really I’m not even sure what the job entails, only that, from the little bit I think I know, it seems like a job that might suit me. Or well, trying it out for a day doesn’t seem so bad.
